Atikokan Economic Development Corp. Tourism Development Intern - Upsala

Position Description

The Upsala Tourism Development Intern will:

  • Provide delivery of social media, digital content creation, & marketign on behalf of the community of Upsalaadn Lac Des Mille Lacs First Nation
  • Work with local, regional, and other industry and tourism stakeholders
  • Develop a tourism website, introudce tourism placemats for local business, develop an events list guide and community calendar
  • Assist in implementing Economic Development and Employment related services
  • Assist in community events
  • Perform other duties as required

Qualifications

Eligilbility:

University or college graduate who has graduated within the last 3 years from an accredited college or university in Tourism, Businessm or Marketing. The position with be a first full-time employmetn in the candidate's field of study. Candidates must be legally entitled to work in Canada. This is a one year position period with an opportunity for an extension to a second year and is funded through the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation's Youth Internship Program. Completion of the University of Waterloo's Certificate in Economic Development program may be required in order to fulfill a second year of employment.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will:

  • Have social extensive media and marketing experience
  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be self-motivated, organized, task-oriented, technically savvy, and a quick learner
  • Be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Hold a vaild Class G driver's license and have access to a vehicle
  • Have knowledge of WordPress, Photoshop, video creation as an asset
