Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
Community Living Atikokan (CLA) is a non-profit organization committed to supporting people with developmental disabilities to live meaningful, inclusive lives in our community. We are currently seeking two (2) Part-Time Direct Support Professionals to join our team.
Position Summary
Direct Support Professionals play a vital role in supporting people to liv as independently as possible while participating fully in community life. DSPs provide person-directed supports in a variety of settings, including supported independent living, and work collaboratively with individuals, families, and the CLA team.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide respectful, person-centered support that promotes choice, independence, dignity, and community inclusion
- Assist individuals with daily living activities, personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks as required
- Support participation in community activities, employment, recreation , and social opportunities
- Encourage and support the development of life skills and personal goals
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow individual support plans
- Work in accordance with CLA policies, procedures, and values
- Communicate effectively with team members, families, and community partners
Qualifications
- Developmental Services Worker (DSW) Diploma or equivalent education and/or experience preferred (training provided)
- Experience supporting people developmental disabilities is an asset
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- Clear Vulnerable Sector Check
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting wage: $28.16 – $30.39 per hour (effective April 1)
