Job Posting: Casual Lifeguard

Rate of Pay:
Under 18 = 18.62 – $20.29/hour
Over 18 = $20.09 – $23.00/hour
Position Summary
The Town of Atikokan is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Casual Lifeguard at the Atikokan Municipal Swimming Pool. Reporting to the Community Services Operations Coordinator under the general supervision of the Acting Pool Supervisor or Unionized Guards, the primary role of this position will be to maintain a safe pool atmosphere for patrons.
Responsibilities
- Maintain continuous surveillance of pool patrons and respond appropriately to emergency situations
- Provide emergency care and treatment until emergency services arrive
- Enforce facility rules, policies, and safety procedures
- Provide customer service, assist with record-keeping, and handle cash transactions
- Assist with general cleaning and maintenance duties
- Complete incident and activity reports
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
- National Lifeguard Society (NLS) certification and Standard First Aid are considered strong assets
- Applicants who do not currently hold all required certifications may still be considered. Training may be provided to suitable candidates.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, and weekends
