Job Summary:
Reporting to the President and CEO, and a member of the Executive Team, The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is responsible for directing and coordinating the functions of the patient care services departments, by planning, developing, recommending and implementing policies, and procedures conducive to quality care. The CNO is responsible for the organization and administration of the Pharmacy, Laboratory, Diagnostic Imaging, Rehabilitation, Acute Care, Emergency Services, Extended Care Wing and Telemedicine. The CNO also participates in Board Meetings as a member of the Executive Team.

Qualifications:

  • Registered Nurse with a current/active registration from the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of nursing experience and 3 years in a nursing management or equivalent
  • Demonstrated excellence in management, leadership, problem solving and conceptual skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal, project management, and change management skills
  • Knowledge of following acts – Nursing Home Act, Public Hospital Act, Long Term Care Act, Hospital Insurance Act, Worker’s Compensation Act, Pay Equity Act, Hospital Labour Dispute Arbitration Act, Labour Relations Act, Employment Standards Act, Human Rights Code, Employment Equity Act, Occupational Health and Safety Act and any other pertinent legislation
  • Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination
