Contract Positions in Fort Frances, Emo, or Atikokan with Various Interim Lengths (3-9 Months)
Committed to meeting the needs of the community by providing services with care, integrity, and accountability, the District of Rainy River Services Board (DRRSB) delivers Early Learning and Child Care, Ontario Works, Community Housing, Land Ambulance and other services for all organized municipalities and unincorporated areas within the geographic District of Rainy River. The Rainy River District covers an area of approximately 15,401 sq. kilometers and has a population of 19,437 (2021 Census). It is bordered on the north by the Kenora District, on the east by the Thunder Bay District, on the south by Minnesota, USA and on the west by the Province of Manitoba.
The RRDSSAB is seeking an Early Childhood Educator (ECE or Non-ECE) to join our team on an Interim basis in various locations within the Rainy River District, with the possibility of ending sooner or later than anticipated. Reporting to the Child Care Site Supervisor, the Early Childhood Educator is responsible for providing high quality child care for children of the DRRSB policies and procedures, and the College of ECE’s Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. The incumbent also provides age appropriate programming in a group setting that meets the diverse needs promotes optimum physical, emotional, social, cognitive and intellectual development of the children in care, in consultation and partnership with families and their colleagues. This position is required to be available to work at different work sites/locations and may be required to travel throughout the District.

This is an open-ended recruitment call, subject to change. The 2023 hourly rate of pay for this position is $27.55 (ECE) or $24.50 (Non-ECE), plus 4% vacation pay plus 10% in lieu of benefits.
