Impala Canada is a palladium mining company and the only producer in Canada whose primary product is palladium, which is an important and necessary metal that contributes to a cleaner, greener and healthier world.
The land on which we operate is the traditional territory of the Anishnaabeg and the Metis. Our Lad des Iles mine, located 90 minutes from Thunder Bay, has been in operation for nearly 30 years, employing over 800 people; we are a values-driven organization committed to supporting the wellbeing of our workforce as well as the communities they come from, and creating a better future.
Impala Canada is currently recruiting to fill summer student positions in the Maintenance, Warehouse, Mill, Exploration, Geology as well as Support & Service areas at our Lac des Iles mine during the period May 1 to August 31, 2023.
Experience in a mining or industrial setting would be an asset, but not required.
To be eligible, students must:
- be eighteen (118) years of age or older prior to the May 1 start date
- be enrolled in an educational program including but not limited to Grade 12/GED/post-secondary, etc.
- show proof of at least two (2) COVID-19 vaccinations
Each student’s work assignment will determine the schedule, and could include a 7 days on and 7 days off, or 14 days on and 14 days off rotation.
Each student will be paid an hourly wage.
