Lead, Data, Reporting & Analytics is responsible to lead OH-Population Health & Value Based Health Systems (PHVBHS) Patient Access and Clinical Transformation (PAC) portfolio’s data, reporting and analytics activities related to provincial virtual care programs, projects and key strategic initiatives to provide information, evidence and support to assess, inform and improve health system performance and effectiveness. Lead, Data, Reporting & Analytics will lead the develop and implementation of reporting indicators, data collection and reporting processes and analytic mechanisms that support OH virtual care program operations, performance, reporting and evaluation requirements of internal and external stakeholders, including, identifying opportunities for transformational change founded in value-based care and supporting the implementation of Value-Based Incentive frameworks for Ontario Health and system investments (e.g. Health811). The Lead, Data, Reporting & Analytics will collaborate across OH to support ongoing program operations, data quality, quality improvement, and system performance and planning needs.
Here is what you will be doing:
- Function as a lead within the PACT division to support the Data and Analytics Operating Model for Ontario Health, which includes working with cross functional teams to drive strategic priorities and operational excellence and synthesize the health system analytics story to improve patient care.
- Manage the data, reporting and analytics workstream for the PACT division related to provincial programs, virtual care and Health811 projects and key strategic initiatives.
- Influence and lead others with the ability to understand complex issues and make decisions.
- Develop and maintain standardized documentation, tools, templates, and supporting process information for virtual care programs, projects and strategic initiatives.
- Lead the data, analytics and reporting requirements of the MOH related to virtual care programs/projects and strategic initiatives.
- Lead the development and implement new and innovative strategic initiatives that support the sharing of agency virtual care data within OH and externally.
- Work collaboratively with external evaluation partners to lead the design and implementation of virtual care program evaluations.
- Support the adoption, change management, quality improvement and evaluation of strategic initiatives.
- Support the development of knowledge translation materials by leveraging and analyzing data and translating it into insight in a clear and concise manner for a variety of audiences to share learnings from virtual care programs, projects and key strategic initiatives with internal/external partners.
- Work in collaboration with team members and across OH to support indicator development, reporting processes, visualization of data and synthesizing the health system analytics story.
- Work with advisors to identify and assess issues impacting the Data and Analytics Operating Model and develops strategies to address these challenges.

Here is what you will need to be successful:
Education and Experience:
- Undergraduate degree in health services research, epidemiology, the social or health sciences, biostatistics, mathematics, statistics, or another relevant discipline.
- 3 years of experience using research analytical techniques
- Experience working with statistical packages (SAS, Stata, R etc.) is preferred
- Experience with qualitative and quantitative data methodologies
- Experience working with Microsoft Office software and applications, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
- Knowledge of the Canadian health care system and health care administrative data
- Experience linking and working with large data sets considered an asset.
- Experience using health administrative and clinical data such as CIHI DAD, NACRS, OHIP Billing, and Statistics Canada census considered an asset
- Knowledge of data quality methodologies
- Knowledge of evaluation and data quality frameworks
Knowledge and Skills:
- An understanding of Ontario’s health care data to design ad conduct analyses of administrative and clinical data to identify areas in the Ontario health system that suggest quality gaps between current best practice and optimal care
- An understanding of health equity, including the social determinants of health and their impacts on health outcomes for different populations.
- Experience with health equity data, patient experience, and outcomes for specific populations would be an asset.
- Strong interpersonal and relationships and consensus among diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to establish positive working relationships; and must be team-oriented, possess a positive attitude, and work well with a broad network of teams, individuals, and stakeholders
- A novel thinker who enjoys generating and exploring innovative ideas and solutions
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy
- Demonstrated initiative and independence to take appropriate action and anticipate organizational needs
- Ability to seek and weigh opinions and evidence, compromising where necessary on ways and means but not on principles or goals
- Ability to deal effectively with colleagues, stakeholders, and the public from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience
- Capacity to work effectively in a rapid-pace work environment
- Ability to complete tasks, as assigned, in a timely manner with high-quality results
