We are looking to hire a part-time Personal Support Worker for a permanent position at Atikokan General Hospital located in Atikokan, Ontario. You will be working in their extended long-term care wing. You will be working in their extended long-term care wing. You will be guaranteed 21-22 hours each week with an opportunity to pick up shifts that amount to 40 hours a week. The details are as follows:
Pay: $28.52 – $28.91/hour
Starting: ASAP
Hours: 8-hour shifts
Duration: Permanent
Work Location: In-person (must be willing to permanently relocate)
Qualifications
- Valid Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized institution
- Experience in long-term care or similar setting an asset
- Must have a valid driver’s license and operating vehicle
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- TB two step test within a year
- Vulnerable sector search within a year
- COVID vaccination proof (3 in total)
- N95 mask fit test results
- Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
- Evidence of immunity measles
- Evidence of immunity mumps
- Evidence of immunity Rubella
- Evidence of immunity Tetanus, Diphtheria, and Pertussis
- Evidence of immunity Polio
- Evidence of immunity Varicella
- Evidence of immunity Hepatitis B
Job Description:
- Delivers high quality personal support work in a long-term care setting
- Provides autonomous care for clients with stable and/or less complex conditions
- Provide assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
- Support residents with meals, feeding, and hydration
- Monitor and report changes in the residents’ condition to the Registered Practical Nurses (RPN) and Registered Nurses (RN)
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of care provided
- Adhere to infection control and safety standards
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with the healthcare team to improve the quality of life for residents
