Rainy River Mine
Situated in beautiful northwestern Ontario, 65 km northwest of Fort France, the Rainy River Mine is an open pit, gold and silver producing, residential mine site.

The Rainy River Min, located adjacent to the Ontario/Minnesota border is 65 Kilometers northwest of Fort Frances, Ontario and is situated half way between Winnipeg, Manitoba and Thunder Bay, Ontario. The area is home to more than 130 species of birds and large populations of moose, black bear and deer. About the Role
Schedule: 14/14 – 12-hour days
Position Reports To: Supply Chain Manager
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Procurement and Contracts Superintendent will be responsible for the procurement, contracts, and camp & logistics responsibilities within the Supply Chain department. This role will be responsible for capturing and processing all procurement and contracts activities within Rainy River Mine site.
This position is full-time and would work a 14/14 rotation. Originally the candidate would have 1 week overlap with Supply Chain Manager (14/14 schedule) for better alignment of the department plan and would eventually move into an opposite 14/14 schedule, becoming the 2IC for the department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Development of Tender Plan for Mine site with key end-users
  • Ensure that procurement and contracts employees follow and respect the Procurement Policy
  • Ensure that proper commercial review and analysis is done for all purchases
  • Ensure that risk is properly identified and managed through strong T&C’s in agreements
  • Develop a strong agreement with First Nation partners, ensuring the TCO for the mine site
  • Develop strong partnerships with key suppliers and contractors for the best service levels and supply agreements for the mine site
  • Create reports based on supplier spend and work on developing agreements based on long-term benefits for the mine site
  • Ensure that expediting reports are carried out by buyers
  • Ensure that procurement department is involved in all procurement activities at the mine site
  • Ensure camp and employee logistics are utilized in the most efficient manner
  • Ensure the Procurement and Contracts team are aligned with the mine requirements and needs

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 10+ years related experience
  • Diploma or Certificate in Business Administration
  • Master’s in Business Administration preferred
  • CSCMP Designation preferred
  • Advance knowledge in Microsoft Office – Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Excellent organizational skills – detail oriented, accountability, responsibility
  • Works well under pressure and meeting deadlines
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills – able to prioritize
  • Strong analytical thinking skills
