Toromont Cat is looking for a Tool Crib Attendant to join our team! The Tool Crib Attendant is responsible for maintaining storing and acquiring tooling and other supplies required by the service department.

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Model the way for safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviours in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Assist Shop Mechanics and Parts Department as directed by Supervisor
• Perform pressure washing and machine preparation duties
• Conduct proper shop clean up and support contamination control efforts
• Manage, organize and control inventory of tool crib
• Coordinate incoming tools and supplies for the team including the delivery of tooling to and from workstations
• Monitor and maintain tool and supply inventory and tool locations to ensure tool cribs are filled at all times
• Provide recommendations on suppliers and repairs as well as replacement of tools and other supplies
• Located lost or misplaced tools and keep tools organized and easy to located
• Provide requisitions and order tools and supplies to ensure required inventory levels
• Inspect, measure and calibrate tools to maintain good working order
• Provide support in the service operation as required

Must-haves for this role:

• Post Secondary Education and/or 2+ years experience in an industrial environment
• Experience with common industry tooling i.e. automotive/heavy equipment preferred
• Technical aptitude with knowledge of small tool repair and calibration
• Effective communication and organizational skills with attention to detail
• Customer centric team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Safety conscious, self-starter with strong initiative and a continuous improvement mindset
• Sense of urgency and adaptable to consistently changing priorities in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
• Computer literate with proficiencies in Microsoft Applications
• Knowledge of CAT SIS, or experience with Toromont parts operations would be an asset
