Job Summary:
Under the supervision of the Community Counselling Manager, the Transition House Support Staff assists clients who ae temporarily residing in the Transition House. This includes ensuring that clients are meeting the program requirements and complying with house rules, supporting the clinicians in implementing and monitoring work plans with clients and that standards are complied with as it relates to congregate living.

The Transition House Program is for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, with a diagnosis of a mental illness or symptoms of a mental illness. The House operates on principles of safe, non-judgmental and client-centered environment.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Grade 12 Diploma. A post-secondary certificate or diploma in Social Services or a related field will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mental illness and addictions and their effects on individuals and families
  • Previous community involvement and proven ability to collaborate with other agencies. Relevant work experience, especially in a healthcare environment, would be an asset
  • Must maintain confidentiality
  • Physical ability to complete requirements of the job
  • Working knowledge of office software, including client database programs
  • Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination
